Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat has warned of more restrictions in Kashmir

Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat has said: sanctions imposed Kashmir may return to the Valley at the cost of freedom of movement due to terrorist attacks after abrogation of Article 370.

After attending the first Ravikant Singh Memorial Lecture Series held in Guwahati, General Rawat said, “Whenever there is peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir, our western adversary creates a situation where some community people are killed and Fear arises.” by Assam Police on Saturday evening.

He said Home Minister Amit Shah visited Kashmir To assure people that the security forces and the local administration will bring the situation under control.

“The intelligence network is being strengthened and there is more surveillance of people. People do not want armed forces to infiltrate, but we have to come back to this fold again and do activities to ensure that terrorists do not indulge in any activity,” Gen Rawat said.

He said the armed forces were gradually trying to give freedom of movement in the Kashmir Valley when peace was building up. Going back to the restrictive fold “inhibits the freedom of the people who live there, but we have to make sure it’s all done for your safety and security”.

On the China front, the CDS said the issues were taking a long time to resolve, but they are being resolved much faster than in the 1980s.

“You should have faith in the system, especially in the armed forces, that they will not let the country down,” he said.
