Child killed, 5 injured in explosion near terror attack site in Jammu

At least five people, including a child, were killed in a blast in Dangri village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. Officials said the blast took place near the house of the victim of yesterday’s terrorist attack.

A police officer said, “There has been an explosion near the house of the incident of the first firing. Five people have been injured. One child has died. Another is in critical condition. Media persons are requested to be vigilant.” Another suspected IED has been spotted, which is being cleared.” the officer said.

The nature of the blast was not clear, the official said.

The incident took place amid a massive cordon and search operation to nab the two suspected terrorists involved in the attack, officials said.

The death toll in yesterday’s terrorist attack in the district has risen to four with one injured civilian succumbing to his injuries at the hospital.

Nine others injured in the incident are being treated and doctors at Rajouri’s Government Medical College said the condition of some of them is “very critical”. Some of the seriously injured have been taken to Jammu.

The victims have been identified as Deepak Kumar, Satish Kumar and Pritam Lal and Shiv Pal.

This is the second incident of civilian killing in Rajouri district in the last two weeks after two people were killed outside an army camp on December 16.
