Civil Aviation Minister Scindia flags off ‘Doon Drone Mela’ in Uttarakhand

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia along with Minister of State, General (Retd) VK Singh in the Ministry of Civil Aviation flagged off the Doon Drone Mela 2021 in Dehradun.

Scindia flagged off the event with a paragliding demonstration and also interacted with drone companies showcasing their prototypes at the Doon Drone Fair, a release by the Ministry of Civil Aviation read.

Speaking on the occasion, Scindia said, “We recognize the immense opportunities that the use of drones brings. The Government of India is working towards enabling this with the launch of a liberal drone policy and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. has been.”

According to the statement, “We insist that the Government of Uttarakhand work towards developing Dehradun as the Aerosports and Drone Hub of India.”

Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary, MoCA along with other senior officials of MoCA were also present at the launch.

The day marked a display of drones and aerosports demonstrations, which included a paragliding demonstration by the Border Security Force, a paramotor demonstration by Harsh Sachan, and an agricultural spraying drone demonstration by IoTechWorld Aviation and Daksha, read the release.

In addition, the event also included an emergency search and response drone demonstration with 3D-printed drones indigenously by the Drone Application and Research Center (DARC) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

This was followed by a brief survey drone demonstration by Aarav Unmanned System (AUS) under the SVAMITVA scheme along with a training drone demonstration by Sqn Ldr Varsha Kukreti (Retd).
