Class IX student ends life after being stopped from appearing for exam for non-payment of fees in Uttar Pradesh

Ashok Kumar claimed that he had sought some time to deposit the fees but the school administration allegedly did not allow his daughter to appear for the exam on Friday.

Family members have alleged that a 14-year-old girl committed suicide after a private school here refused to appear for the examination due to non-payment of fees.

Superintendent of Police (city) Rahul Bhati said an inquiry has been ordered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the family members.

“My daughter was a Class IX student in a local private school. Due to some financial constraints, I was unable to collect her school fees,” Ashok Kumar, father of the girl, a resident of Baradari, said in his complaint.

Kumar claimed that he had sought some time to deposit the fees but the school administration allegedly did not allow his daughter to appear for the exam on Friday.

He said that his daughter was hurt and she allegedly hanged herself after returning home.
