A two-day coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach 01/23’ involving all maritime security agencies was conducted in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep till May 4. Around 1,000 personnel, including the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and all other law enforcement agencies, including Lakshadweep Administration, Coastal Police, Indian Reserve Battalion, Port Department were engaged in the exercise, said a press release.
The objective of the exercise was to assess the efficacy and robustness of the coastal security apparatus of the Islands while dealing with asymmetric threats emanating from the sea.
