Regular head coach Chris Silverwood will take a break after the ongoing Ashes series against Australia, with Marcus Trescothick joining Collingwood as assistant coach. Eoin Morgan Will captain the team.
Collingwood was in T20 world Cup Before moving to the Ashes with England earlier this year, but flew back to Britain last week.
Of the 16 players named in the squad, 11 traveled to the World Cup, with left-arm uncapped seamer David Payne earning his first call-up to the England T20I squad.
Collingwood said, “Starting our preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia, we have picked a strong team with some serious batting power and a balanced attack.
“With less than a year left in the World Cup and the absence of players who are with the Ashes team, the chances for the team will increase.”
The series will start on January 22 and end on January 30.
