Come November 12, people of Himachal will say ‘Jai Ram ji ki’ to CM Thakur: Sachin Pilot

Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Sunday said the wind of change was blowing across Himachal Pradesh and on November 12, the people of the state would say ‘Jai Ram ji ki’ to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

‘Jai Ram ji ki’ is an expression often used in reply to India while bidding farewell to someone.

Addressing a public meeting in support of Congress candidate Jagdish Siphiya in reconciliation, Pilot exuded confidence that his party would form the government in Himachal Pradesh.

“You (BJP government in Himachal) cannot run away from your promise, you have to fulfill your commitment and otherwise people will press the button next to the ‘hand’ symbol on the EVM machine. The Congress will form the government with a huge mandate,” the pilot said with a loud ovation.

He also addressed a public meeting in favor of Congress’s Ashish Butail in Palampur.

Speaking to reporters during a campaign campaign in the hill state, the former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan said that if the Thakur-led government had done welfare work, people would have voted on the development agenda.

But since there is huge resentment against the BJP rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have had to campaign extensively in the small state, he said.

“The work of the government is something that people are unhappy about. There has been massive corruption, paper leaks, financial irregularities and misgovernance. Winds of change are blowing across the state. That’s why the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have to come daily. He wouldn’t have to come if it was about his work,” the pilot said.

He said, the people of Himachal are going to say ‘Jai Ram ji ki’ to Thakur sahib on November 12.

Pilot said people are looking for change and Congress has been able to capture their imagination with promises like Rs 1,500 monthly allowance for women, free 300 units of electricity, government jobs and restoration of old pension scheme.

The Congress leader also claimed that the BJP is facing infighting within its state unit and rebel candidates, and that is why the top leadership is so “worried” that they have to come every day to campaign, even though It is only a small state.

The Congress is relying on the anti-incumbency wave and urging voters not to re-elect the BJP in the state in the assembly elections to be held on November 12.
