Commonwealth Games 2022: India’s Eighth Day Schedule

Birmingham | Team India is all set for the 8th day of the multinational sporting event. After a good 7 days and a gold and a silver in athletics and powerlifting, the participating members of the Indian contingent would like to emerge victorious and contribute to improving India’s position on the leaderboard.

The time has finally come for India to witness six of its finest wrestlers and bring out the best among them. Sakshi Mallick, who is also an Olympic medalist, will headline India’s wrestling campaign alongside Bajrang Punia who is leading the men’s wrestling team. Apart from all the wrestling action, the team will be seen participating in Indy Para Table Tennis. With Bhavna Patel and Sonalben Patel playing in each of the two semi-finals in the women’s singles category 3-5, Team India has been assured a medal. Raj Aravindan Alagar, on the other hand, will be seen in action in one of the two semi-finals of the men’s section 3-5.

After winning the gold medal in the Quartet Lawn Bowl event, the women’s pair lawn balls team is set to take on England in the quarter-finals and are the absolute favorites to qualify for the semi-finals and final. The Indian women’s hockey team is also set to take on Australia in the semi-finals.
