Conduct centralized exams like IBPS, suggest Group D candidates to RRB NTPC, RRBs

Railway NTPC and Group D recruitment exam candidates have advised the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) officials to modify the exam and adopt a policy of conducting only one exam i.e. centralized exam. Having a centralized structure will reduce the chances of protests and uneasiness among the candidates.

The candidates argued that the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the examination of all banks in a centralized manner and also releases its results centrally. According to the vacancies in different banks, a merit list is prepared. The seats are filled by issuing category wise merit. This happens regularly. IBPS also releases the waiting list. Accordingly, the candidates are recruited. They have a fixed annual calendar and every year, IBPS releases the post for Clerk and Probationary Officer.

At present, each RRB board releases its own separate cut off due to which the cut off becomes very high. Even the students who have scored well are not getting the seat. Also, with each board having a different set of seats, more students usually apply for the board in which the seats are, creating unequal applications for different boards. Also, RRB does not release a specific calendar which is a major concern of the candidates. Being one of the biggest boards in the country, RRBs still take three to four years to fill a vacancy of a session.

Amidst growing protests over NTPC CBT 2, RRB Patna has constituted a high level committee to clear doubts of students regarding NTPC graduation level and Group D examinations. Above 1 lakh complaints raised By 1st Feb by RRB NTPC Committee.

The committee is visiting different places and listening to the problems of the girl students. The candidates have also asked the committee to accept fresh applications for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate as they had faced problems in generating EWS certificate while applying. The committee is visiting different districts of Bihar and taking answers to their questions.

Now it will be interesting to see the final report of the committee. If RRB takes into account the issues of the students and improves its existing policies, we can see a major change in the railway exam structure.
