Confidence to win city elections, Didi’s blessings are with me: CM’s sister-in-law Kajri Banerjee debuts

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s sister-in-law and debutant Kajri Banerjee, TMC candidate in Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections, is “confident of winning the election”.

Kajri has become the second member of the CM’s family after her nephew Abhishek Banerjee to enter the electoral fray. She is contesting from ward no 73. “I trust every house in this area, I grew up here, it is like worship for me. Due to the weather, people are coming late,” Kajri told News18.

Asked if she had consulted Chief Minister Mamata for the first time for elections, Kajri said, “I went to her yesterday and took her advice. He has given me all his blessings and told me to be alert. I have always been with him in all elections and he is with me, I know.”

Amid BJP’s allegations that party members are not allowed to vote, he said these are false allegations, they are voting. “I don’t know what is happening in North Kolkata and elsewhere, but it is true that there is no protest,” he said.

Kajri’s husband and CM Mamta’s brother Karthik Banerjee, who has been helping his wife during election campaigns and making rounds of Ward 73, told News18 that he has always fought for his didi and will continue to do so. Will stay

Ward 73 comes under Mamata Banerjee’s Bhabnipur constituency, which saw the CM emerge victorious by over 6,000 votes in the recent by-elections.
