The Congress on Tuesday released its first list of 46 candidates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections to be held on November 12. In the list released here, Congress Legislature Party leader Mukesh Agnihotri has been fielded from Haroli assembly seat and former minister Asha Kumari from her Dalhousie. seat.
The party has fielded former state Congress presidents Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Kuldeep Singh Rathore from Nadaun and Theog respectively. The party has fielded all its sitting MLAs, including Vikramaditya Singh, son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, from Shimla Rural constituency.
However, the name of state Congress President Pratibha Singh was not included in the first list of candidates. She is the wife of the sitting MP from Mandi and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Former BJP leader Dayal Pyari, who joined Congress a few days back, has been fielded from Pachhad (SC) seat.
Col Dhani Ram Shandil will contest from his Solan seat and Harshvardhan Singh Chouhan from his Shillai assembly seat. Former state minister and former state president of the party Kaul Singh Thakur will contest from Darang assembly seat. Voting for the 68 assembly seats in the hill state is to be held on November 12 and the counting of votes will be held on December 8.
