Congress claims Karnataka BJP exodus: “So PM decided to use last armoury”

Accusing the Center largely, Congress MP Randeep Surjewala has claimed that the government has sent central agencies to conduct raids against party leaders and candidates shortlisted for the Karnataka Assembly polls.

The Congress leader claimed that the party has “authentic information” that the BJP failed to select its candidates for the elections.

Mr Surjewala alleged that a “mass exodus” was taking place in the BJP in the poll-bound state.

“We have authentic information that BJP is unable to select its candidates for BJP ministers and MLAs are refusing to contest seats… There is a large scale exodus to BJP in Karnataka. Around 10 MLAs , MLCs, former MLAs and former MLCs, their board and corporation presidents have resigned in dozens and joined the Congress,” he claimed.

“So, PM Modi has decided to use the last arsenal in his arsenal which will fail miserably. He claimed that the party would cross the 150-plus mark in the Karnataka assembly elections.

Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah said there is a Congress wave in Karnataka and the party will come to power with a comfortable majority.

Assembly elections will be held in Karnataka on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
