Congress is wide ball, AAP is no ball, only BJP is good length delivery: Rajnath Singh

Senior BJP leader and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday used cricket similes to take a dig at opposition parties, terming the Congress a “wide ball” and the AAP a “no ball”.

Addressing election rallies in Himachal Pradesh’s Baijnath and Balh assembly constituencies, Singh described the BJP as the only “delivery of good length” on the political pitch.

He said that the BJP’s resolve to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Himachal Pradesh was not about getting votes.

“We have resolved to implement Uniform Civil Code in Himachal Pradesh. Congress people are saying that we are doing this to get votes. We don’t want to divide the society and take votes. The Uniform Civil Code has been in force in Goa for years. Has the society broken down in Goa,” Singh said.

Cricket fever is rising in the country during the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia, politicians connected with voters by comparing politics with cricket

He said, ‘To sum up the current politics in the context of cricket, I would say that while the BJP is a ‘good length ball’ on the pitch of politics, the Congress party has become a ‘wide ball’. The position of Aam Aadmi Party is that of no ball,” Singh said.

Singh said the country’s economy was at the ninth or tenth position during the Congress rule.

Today India’s economy is at the fifth position in the world under the leadership of Modi ji. The day is not far when India’s economy will be among the top three countries in the world.” Singh said the Modi government has curbed corruption and now the entire money from the Center reaches people’s accounts without any deviation.

“Our government has curbed corruption. I am not saying that we have completely eradicated corruption. We have changed the system to curb corruption. Today, if 100 paise moves from Delhi, the entire amount reaches the public’s account.

The Defense Minister said that Prime Minister Modi has emphasized on self-reliance in defense goods.

He said, ‘Today India’s defense exports have reached the level of about twenty thousand crore rupees.

Referring to the change of government in the hill state every five years, Singh said, “People of Himachal Pradesh keep taking off chapatis. But this time the chapati is well cooked here. There is no need to reverse it.

The same used to happen in Uttarakhand too, but the people there have now stopped it. Referring to the BJP manifesto, Singh said mothers and sisters will experience ‘achche din’ under the BJP as the party has announced that it will give 33 per cent reservation to women in government jobs.
