Maharashtra Congress leader Mohammad Arif Naseem Khan has written to President Draupadi Murmu, demanding that the country’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna be given posthumously to Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, who died last month.

In a letter, he said that the late Samajwadi Party leader understood the pain of the deprived sections for which he fought.

Maharashtra Congress working president Mr. Khan said, “The entire country mourns the demise of the leader of the Samajwadi Party. I request that he should be awarded the Bharat Ratna in honor of the sentiments of crores of people.”

He has written a letter to the Prime Minister demanding Bharat Ratna for Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Ballia Virender Singh had last month sanctioned Rs 25 lakh from his MP fund for the construction of an auditorium in memory of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav. .

The proposed auditorium is to be constructed in the Ballia District Court premises and will be named “Dhartiputra Mulayam Singh Yadav Samvad Bhawan”.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav also served as the Union Defense Minister. His fans fondly called him “Netaji”.
