Congress plenary session: Rahul Gandhi to address on last day of meeting; 3 resolutions for discussion

former congress president Rahul Gandhi The grand old party is set to address party members on the third and final day of its plenary session in Raipur on Sunday. On Sunday, the party’s delegation will consider three proposals related to agriculture, youth and social justice.

Sonia Gandhi received a standing ovation during her speech on the second day of the 85th Plenary Session. “I am happy that my innings ends with the Bharat Jodo Yatra,” he said ominously at the end of his speech at the plenary session.

On the last day of the session, three resolutions of the party – farmers and agriculture; social justice and empowerment; and youth, education and employment. After Gandhi’s address, the discussion on all the three proposals will continue.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will deliver the concluding speech at the plenary session at around 2 pm.

After Kharge’s address, there will be a public meeting in Raipur which will be addressed by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Kharge and Gandhi and the 85th plenary session will end.

Major Resolutions of the Congress

Several resolutions related to political, economic and international affairs were discussed and passed on Saturday.

The Congress party also said that there was an “urgent need” for a united opposition to counter the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and argued that the emergence of a Third Front would be beneficial to the BJP.

On the first day of the session, the Congress Steering Committee unanimously decided not to hold elections to the CWC and authorized the party chief to nominate its members. The decision was taken at a meeting of the steering committee headed by Kharge, which was not attended by members of the Gandhi family.

A meeting of the subject committee of the party was held on Friday evening, in which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were also present after reaching Raipur late in the afternoon. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Chhattisgarh for the plenary session on Saturday morning.
