Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Friday that the Congress will start a two-month door-to-door campaign across India from next week to take Rahul Gandhi’s message to the masses.

The Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra is a battle between the ideology of the BJP-RSS alliance and the Congress, which has always believed in unity and brotherhood, Ramesh said and noted that his party has filed a “charge sheet” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. was prepared. – Under the leadership of the central government.

Ramesh, Congress said, “Congress has prepared a charge sheet against the Modi government, which will be released in Delhi on Saturday. We will take copies of the charge sheet with Rahul Gandhi’s message to every house in the country.” The Secretary-General said at the end of the first day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra here.

Flanked by senior colleagues, including former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh and Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief Vikar Rasool Wani, Ramesh said the ‘Hath se Hath’ campaign would run from January 26 to March 26.

Under the campaign, Congress workers will be mobilized to spread the message of Gandhi in all 2.5 lakh panchayats, six lakh villages and 10 lakh polling stations, who started the Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir journey to dispel hatred and spread the message of love. What, said Ramesh.

The march, which started from Kanyakumari on September 7, is in its final stage. It is scheduled to end in Srinagar on January 30 with the unfurling of the national flag by Gandhi at the party headquarters.

Describing economic inequality, social polarization and political dictatorship as three major issues worrying the country, Ramesh said, “While others subscribe to the view that unity is diversity, we believe that it is diversity that leads to unity.” When we are suppressing diversity, which BJP and RSS are doing now, it means our unity is in danger.”

Responding to a question about National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah advocating talks with Pakistan, Singh said he has every right to express his opinion.

“In all diplomatic relations and on all issues, dialogue is an option and when to use it or not depends on the situation at that time,” he said.

Ramesh said that former BJP leader Sushma Swaraj had said that talks and terrorism cannot go together, but I want to ask this government that China is sitting on our land, but in the last two years record trade with our country Has happened.

“China is occupying our land by intruding in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh and creating tension on the borders, but trade with them is going on without any restrictions. Who doesn’t want to talk to Pakistan, but there was only one condition that the border Cross terrorism should be stopped and this has been the policy of every government.”

Responding to a question on the exodus of migrant Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in 1990, Singh reminded that the Congress was not in power at the Center then.

He said, as far as we are concerned, the Congress has always supported that all Hindus and Muslims live together and this is the basis of our Bharat Jodo Yatra.

J&K Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said, “The Congress provided employment and financial packages for the rehabilitation of the community but they (BJP government at the Centre) failed to secure their lives. They (Kashmiri Pandits) ), along with Dogra employees, were forced to return amid targeted killings and have been protesting in Jammu for the past six months.”

On the demand for restoration of Article 370, especially from the Abdullah-headed People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, Ramesh said the Congress believes that the bill introduced in Parliament on August 5, 2019, was not presented in a democratic manner and was passed without consultation. or debate.

“We want restoration of democratic activities and restoration of statehood. Article 371 of the Constitution is also prevalent in different parts of the country where people enjoy special status under this provision,” he said.

He also alleged that the Democratic Azad Party led by Ghulam Nabi Azad was “100 per cent” supported by the BJP.

“His party has already disappeared and the leaders who joined it returned to the Congress and we accepted them back, considering they were on a two-month leave. Modi-Shah (Home Minister Amit Shah) BJP’s strategy has failed in Jammu and Kashmir.” ” They said.
