Congress veterans, actors and activists: Bharat Jodi Yatra enters 56th day, a look at key figures who attended Rahul’s Ekta March

India couple tour lead Rahul Gandhi Had a surprise visitor to Telangana today for more than 50 days. Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt joins Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the city of Hyderabad this morning.

Just yesterday, Radhika Vemula, mother of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula, whose suicide sparked nationwide protests in 2016, joined Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in his Bharat Jodi Yatra in Hyderabad.

During the yatra that began in Kanyakumari in September, the yatra saw several guests and politicians, besides locals, walk shoulder to shoulder with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Many leaders have been associated with Rahul Gandhi in the past as well. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Swaraj to name a few India Founder Yogendra Yadav, JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar among many others.

There has also been a crowd of Chief Ministers in the Bharat Jodi Yatra. Some of these include- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel.

Former MP and national head of Congress’s digital team, Divya Spandana also joined Rahul Gandhi on the last day of his visit to Karnataka before entering Telangana on 23 October.

Many celebrities who did not physically participate in the yatra also supported the yatra through social media. Earlier, Swara Bhaskar had praised Rahul Gandhi and the journey. Despite electoral defeats, trolling, personal attacks and constant criticism being ineffective, @RahulGandhi has neither succumbed to communal rhetoric nor sensationalist politics. Looking at the condition of this country, an effort like @bharatjodo is commendable!” Swara tweeted.

Hollywood actor John Cusack also came out in support of Rahul Gandhi’s visit in September and praised him for traveling from Kerala to Kashmir.

According to the party, the highlight of the yatra is the relentless participation of the local people during the yatra. From old women to children, youth of all age groups are walking with Rahul Gandhi for more than 50 days across South India.

Many artists have also been associated with Rahul Gandhi many times. Gandhi is seen playing instruments and even dancing with the artists. In Bellary last month, Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman also joined the yatra, as actors dressed up as characters from the Ramayana in Bellary joined Rahul Gandhi.
