Controversy erupts over AAP minister’s presence in ‘religious conversion’ program; BJP asked Arvind Kejriwal to sack him. Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: A video clip of Aam Aadmi Party ,AAP) Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam A “religious conversion” went viral at the event, sparking a political controversy on Friday.
Hundreds of people an. can be heard taking swear Condemnation of Hindu Gods with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launch an attack on the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and asked him to sack his cabinet colleague, PTI reported.
Aam Aadmi Party sources claimed that the chief minister was “extremely angry” with Gautam.
However, there was no immediate response from the Chief Minister or the Delhi government.
Gautam is the Social Welfare Minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government.
At a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused AAP of hurting the sentiments of Hindus and alleged that “Gautam’s remarks ignite hatred” for the party community.
Bhatia claimed that the minister’s alleged remarks were made at the behest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
During the event, around 10,000 people reportedly took a pledge to convert to Buddhism to follow the teachings of Lord Buddha and give up worship of Hindu deities.
On October 5, Gautam himself tweeted pictures of the event, saying that over 10,000 people had pledged to join Buddhism and work to free India from casteism and untouchability.
Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta alleged during a press conference that Gautam showed “disrespect” to Hindu deities in the presence of thousands of people at an event in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh on Dussehra.
“This is not an isolated incident, it is in the character of AAP to insult and insult Hindu gods and goddesses. We demand that Kejriwal should immediately expel Gautam from his cabinet,” Gupta said.
Gupta led a party delegation to lodge a police complaint here in the matter.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari also demanded Gautam’s sacking, claiming that his action could lead to enmity between Hindu and Buddhist communities.
Taking a jibe at Gautam, West Delhi MP Parvesh Verma accused him of being involved in “mass conversions”.
In a tweet, Verma said, “There are reports of conversions every day from AAP ruled Punjab. Similarly, Kejriwal’s minister Rajendra Pal is now doing mass conversions of people in Delhi.”
Bhatia said the comments were made because of “vote bank” politics in the light of the upcoming elections.
‘How low will you stoop for votes, Kejriwal,’ he asked. Bhatia said every Hindu has faith in their gods and claimed that the minister’s remarks were a blow to national integrity.
