Core Diagnostics launches new labs in Delhi and Bengaluru

New Delhi Gurgaon-based laboratory Core Diagnostics on Thursday announced the launch of two new laboratories in Delhi and Bengaluru respectively as part of its aggressive plans to expand its footprint in India and move beyond its B2B offerings.

The Delhi Lab at Green Park is fully operational and accepting samples in Delhi NCR, and the second Diagnostic Lab at Richmond Circle, Bengaluru has just started operations.

Molecular genetic testing in India is still in its infancy. It is set to grow as a shift from reactive to preventive approaches, with a greater focus on integrative diagnosis. While routine testing is a mainstay of the industry, the focus on genetic testing has increased over the years in line with the growing awareness of preventive health care. With the expectation of faster reporting from clients and physicians, geographic expansion has become a business necessity, the company said in a statement.

Core Diagnostic’s lab expansion aims to tap into this change and provide advanced testing solutions to customers near us.

The new well-equipped facilities have highly skilled and qualified pathologists and technicians and will provide a wide range of tests from health packages to introductory fertility testing to high-end molecular testing. Core Diagnostics continues to provide home collection facilities at various locations, ensuring that test results are delivered promptly, the company statement said.

The quick turnaround time of reporting, by being located close to the customer, will vastly expand the base of customers that can be serviced. So far, Core has collected 750K high-end diagnostics samples from over 120 cities across India and ten international locations. Within a year, we will have the capacity to sample from over 300 cities across India and have deep global expansion plans in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

In addition to these owned and operated laboratories, the core is also expanding through partnerships. He recently partnered with GJ Diagnostics Lab in Ludhiana to expand its presence across Punjab and with Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) testing.

Dinesh Chauhan, CEO, Core Diagnostics said, “We at Core are constantly striving to ensure affordable and accessible high-end diagnostics for all. These two new laboratories are the first step in our commitment to expand our presence and meet the growing demand for high quality diagnostics. With our investments in automation and our relentless efforts to bring advanced testing to India, we are building customer touchpoints enabling a high quality experience for our customers. We are pleased to follow our vision of making quality diagnosis accessible to more people through our partnerships and laboratory expansion plans. We aim to provide timely and highest quality diagnostic services to over 300 Indian cities and expand our presence to countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.”

Bangalore Lab is the first major investment in South India and will also act as a digital pathology hub. All samples collected there will be scanned, and examined by pathologists in the core Gurgaon laboratory and referred to our global panel of organ specialists if necessary. Automation and analytics have transformed the diagnostic space and brought a more efficient and secure approach to sample testing and examination. This will enable us to carry more sample load with shorter turnaround time and help in faster diagnosis of patients, the company said.
