88 oxygen production plants are functioning in the state: CM

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that 88 oxygen generating plants with a collective capacity to generate more than 45,000 liters of oxygen per minute have become operational in the state.

In an official statement late Tuesday evening, Mr Chouhan said that a total of 190 oxygen plants would be made operational by the end of this month.

“The deficiencies noticed in the health infrastructure during the second wave of COVID-19 are being addressed on a priority basis. The most important of these shortfalls was the availability of medical oxygen,” the CM said.

Tamil Nadu’s plan to organize a ‘mega camp on COVID-19 vaccination’ will be based on the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) model. Under this, there are 40,399 regular booths and 2,652 additional booths in the state, taking the total number of booths to 43,051.

The Directorate of Public Health (DPH) and Preventive Medicine have asked deputy directors of health services to vaccinate against COVID-19 only at designated booths already selected for IPPI. Fix booths should be set up at the same places where they were set up during the last IPPI campaign on 31st January, 2021.

On following the IPPI model, Public Health Director TS Selvavinayagam said it was available through the system and the locations were known to the general public.
