Covid-19 cases in India: The recovery rate of Covid in India has crossed 98 per cent.

India has reported 22,270 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the number of COVID-19 cases to 4,28,02,505. According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, the recovery rate has again crossed the 98 percent level.

The death toll has risen to 5,11,230 with 325 deaths reported daily, data updated at 8 am.

A total of 60,298 patients have been cured yesterday and the total number of cured patients since the start of the pandemic is 4,19,77,238. As a result, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.12 per cent.

World “better prepared” for Covid variants: Vaccine maker BioNtech

The world is getting “better prepared” to deal with future variants of the coronavirus, as the company works on an Omicron-specific shot, the CEO and co-founder of German vaccine-maker BioNtech told AFP on Thursday.

“We have to get used to the fact that we have to live with the virus for the next 10 years,” said Ugur Sahin, whose company developed the first mRNA vaccine against the virus with US pharma giant Pfizer.

Delhi recorded 607 new COVID cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the Delhi government’s health bulletin, the active number of COVID-19 patients in the city reached 2,775. Meanwhile, 854 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

The daily count of cases dipped slightly in the last 24 hours as 739 new COVID cases and five deaths were reported in the city on Thursday.
