Full immunization of 80% of India’s adult population

Eighty percent of India’s adult population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Saturday.

In a tweet, Mr Mandaviya said, India has crossed the historic milestone of providing both doses of the coronavirus vaccine to 80 per cent of its adult population.

He said, ‘Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the country is moving fast towards 100% vaccination with the mantra of ‘Sabka Prayas’.

According to official figures, about 96.5% of the country’s adult population has been given the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The data said that over 20 million adolescents in the age group of 15-18 have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. , PTI)
