Telangana High Court Justice G. Sri Devi on Wednesday directed the Narsingi police of Cyberabad Commissionerate not to take any coercive step against S Sridhar Rao, a builder and owner of Sandhya Convention in Gachibowli, in a criminal case registered against him.

Mr Rao filed a criminal petition in the High Court for quashing of the FIR issued against him in the alleged cheating case. Advocate Dammalapati Srinivas, appearing for Mr. Rao, appeared before the judge and said that a case has been registered against his client on false charges.

Earlier, Rayadurg Police of Cyberabad arrested him in a separate case on charges of cheating and presented him in a local court. While issuing him the bail order, the magistrate said that the police did not issue notice to the accused Sridhar Rao as per procedure under Section 41 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Meanwhile, Mr Rao moved the High Court seeking quashing of the FIR issued by Narsingi police and directed the police not to take any coercive steps against him.
