Covid-19 | India has 176 fresh cases

With 176 fresh cases, India’s COVID-19 tally has risen to 4,46,75,952, while the number of active cases has come down to 3,552, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

The death toll due to the viral disease climbed to 5,30,672 with five more deaths in the last 24 hours, including four reported by Kerala and one by Maharashtra, according to the ministry’s data updated at 8 am.

According to the ministry’s website, active cases account for 0.01 per cent of the total caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.8 per cent.

A decrease of 56 was recorded in the number of active cases in a span of 24 hours.

The number of people who have been cured of the disease has increased to 4,41,41,728, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent.

According to the ministry’s website, 220 crore doses of Covid vaccines have so far been administered to the beneficiaries across the country.

India’s COVID-19 tally crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 2020, 40 lakh on September 5, 2020 and 50 lakh on September 16, 2020.

It crossed 60 lakhs on September 28, 2020, 70 lakhs on October 11, 2020, 80 lakhs on October 29, 2020, 90 lakhs on November 20, 2020 and one crore on December 19, 2020.

The country crossed two crore on May 4, 2021, three crore on June 23, 2021 and four crore on January 25 this year.
