COVID-19 India Updates: 201 new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in India in the last 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry today (December 24), the total recovery rate has touched almost 98.80 per cent and the total recovery data has reached 4,41,42,791.
The total active cases of COVID-19 in India has come down to 3,397, Health Ministry data showed today. Yesterday, the active cases registered were around 3,380.
Active Case:
A total increase of 17 cases has been registered in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.15 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.14 per cent on 24 December.
The total death toll in the country has now reached 5,30,691. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic occurred in March 2020.
COVID Vaccination Update:
According to the Health Ministry website, 220.04 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive. About 1,05,044 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours in India.
ICMR test:
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), around 90.97 crore samples have been tested for COVID-19 till December 23. Of these, 1,36,315 samples were tested on Friday.
India’s COVID-19 tally crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October. Crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.
India had crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4th May last year, 30 million on 23rd June and 40 million on 25th January this year.
