Covid-19 updates: India’s active cases come down to 28,593

India has recorded 2,756 COVID-19 cases in the last twenty-four hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,46,12,013, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Sunday. Currently, the country’s active caseload stands at 28,593.

The death toll rose to 5,28,799 with 21 fatalities, including 16 deaths reported by Kerala, data updated at 8 am.

Active cases comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections, while the active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decline of 658 cases in a 24-hour period.

India’s recovery rate currently stands at 98.75%, while India’s cumulative recovery from Covid-19 is over 4.40 crores.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakhs on August 7, 2020, 30 lakhs on 23rd August, 40 lakhs on 5th September and 50 lakhs on 16th September. It had crossed 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October. 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and crossed the one crore mark on 19 December.

India crossed the critical case count of 20 million on 4th May last year, 3 crores on 23rd June and 4 crores on 25th January this year.
