Covid-19 vaccine for children: NTAGI to meet today amid Omicron fears

According to official sources reported by the news agency, the expert panel will meet today to discuss the issues of child immunization and additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine. ANI.

As previously reported by ANI, NTAGI will come out with comprehensive policies for both additional COVID-19 vaccine doses and child immunization against COVID-19.

There is a difference between a booster dose and an additional dose. A booster dose is given after a pre-determined period of time after the primary two doses have been given, while an additional dose is given to people who have basic problems with their immune functions.

If they are not able to develop sufficient immunity to COVID-19, an additional dose is given with the aim of improving immunity levels.

On the administration of booster doses, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had recently informed the Lok Sabha that the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) and the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) would consider the relevant scientific evidence.
