Covid was back at the center of India’s health and political map on Wednesday, with the government advising people to get vaccinated and wearing masks, and saying random checks at airports for travelers arriving from China and other countries Sample test will be done. Three cases of the Omicron subvariant BF.7, apparently the strain causing the current surge of COVID cases in China, were detected. The first case of BF.7 in India was detected by the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center in October, official sources said, adding that two cases were reported from Gujarat and one from Odisha.
