COVID Vaccination: India Manages Over 124 Crore Jobs

New Delhi: India’s vaccination campaign against Kovid-19 has crossed 124.10 crores to protect against corona virus.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday, “With the administration of 80,98,716 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 124.10 crore (1,24,10,86,850) As per provisional report till 7 am today. “Continuous and collaborative efforts by the Center and States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 daily new cases being reported for 157 consecutive days. 8,954 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the World Health Organization, this comes in the backdrop of the emergence of the Omicron variant, which carries a “very high” risk of infection.

“India’s active caseload is less than one lakh after 547 days; Currently stands at 99,023. Active cases account for 0.29% of the total positive cases in the country, which is the lowest since March 2020. In the last 17 days, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 0.81%. The daily positivity rate is below 2% for the last 58 days and remains below 3% for 93 consecutive days.”

The central government on Tuesday extended the enforcement of nationwide COVID-19 containment measures till December 31, as concerns grew over the emergence of the Omicron coronavirus mutant in some countries.
