COVID Vaccination: Young, Young India is showing the way: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the youth in the age group of 15-18 in the country for showing enthusiasm in vaccinating against COVID-19.

With more than half of the youth in the 15-18 age group getting the first dose of the COVID vaccine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that youth and youth India is leading the way.

PM Modi tweeted, “Young and young India is showing the way! This is encouraging news. Let’s keep the momentum. It is important to vaccinate and follow all COVID-19 related protocols. Together we will fight this pandemic.”

PM Modi further emphasized on the fact that it was important to follow all the COVID-19 related protocols.

His tweet was in response to Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s tweet on Tuesday, which said it was a “big day” for India’s fight against the pandemic as more than 50% of youth between the ages of 15 and 18 have received the vaccine. The first dose has been received.

Mandaviya on Tuesday informed that so far more than 50% children in the age group of 15-18 in the country have received the first dose of the Kovid-19 vaccine, when the vaccination campaign for the age group started from January 3. India’s fight against Kovid-19! More than 50% of our youth aged 15-18 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Well done, my young friends! Your enthusiasm for vaccination is inspiring people across India. Vaccine free to all,” tweeted Mandaviya.

“Amazing enthusiasm in young India for COVID-19 vaccination, over 35 crore children in the 15-18 age group have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since January 3. Congratulations to all my young friends who have vaccinated ,” tweeted the Health Minister.

India has vaccinated over 35 crore first doses of Covaxin vaccine to children in the age group of 15-18 years, with the hope that the first phase of the vaccination campaign for this age group will be completed by the end of this month.

After being announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25 last year, the country started immunization of children aged 15-18 years from January 3, 2022.
