Cricketers should be proud to represent their district: MS Dhoni

Speaking at a function organized on the occasion of Silver Jubilee of Tiruvallur District Cricket Association, M S Dhoni He said that the cricketers should be proud to represent their district as it is a high level ladder.

“This is the first time I am part of a celebration where we are celebrating the success of a district association. I would also like to thank our District Cricket Association (Ranchi). Cricketers should be proud to represent their district needed.

The World Cup winning captain insisted that although he is happy to represent the country, it would not have been possible if he had not played for his district or school.

Dhoni said, “I am proud that I got the opportunity to represent my country, but it would not have happened if I had not played for my district or school.”

Dhoni was part of the event as the chief guest along with former ICC president and former BCCI president N Srinivasan. He also lauded the Tiruvallar District Cricket Association for completing 25 years.

“Congratulations to Thiruvallur District Cricket Association for completing 25 years. It’s been more than 25 years, but we are celebrating it today. I have known (RN) Baba (TDCA secretary) for a very long time. Not only A big congratulations to him but other people of the association too,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivasan said, “It is not easy for any association to last long. The love for the game makes him (Baba) work for cricket. He developed the field, cricketers and outstanding players.” Huh.”

“And, the association has taught everyone the value of sportsmanship. I wish them (TDCA) more appreciation and greatness ahead,” he added.

TDCA in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Sports Journalists Association (TNSJA) gave scholarships worth Rs 3 lakh to ten sportspersons from different disciplines in the state of Tamil Nadu, in which Dhoni handed over the cheques.

India Cements whole-time director Roopa Gurunath, CSK CEO KS Viswanathan and office-bearers of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association also attended the ceremony.

A host of male and female cricketers, including India international Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthikand MD Thirushkamini congratulated TDCA through video messages.

TDCA Secretary Dr RN Baba, who was the media manager of the Indian cricket team including the 2013 Champions Trophy and 2015 World Cup between 2012 and 2015, proposed the vote of thanks.
