Cryptocurrency Prices Today: Bitcoin, Ether Rise While Shiba Inu Slips

The cryptocurrency price remains above $20,000 with bitcoin trading today. The world’s largest and most popular cryptocurrency was trading up nearly one percent at $20,397. According to CoinGecko, the global crypto market cap was above the $1 trillion mark today, as it rose nearly one percent to $1.01 trillion in the past 24 hours.

Ether, on the other hand, is the coin linked to the Ethereum blockchain and the second largest cryptocurrency, rose more than 2% to $1,382. Meanwhile, Dogecoin price was flat today at around $0.06 while the Shiba Inu fell by over one percent to $0.0000012.

Modular Asset Management’s crypto hedge fund is buying tokens like Algorand and Polkadot on the condition that coins with strong stability characteristics will outperform after the $2 trillion shakeout in digital assets. In an interview with Bloomberg, Chief Investment Officer Daniel Liebau said that the modular blockchain fund, which launched in May, has also accelerated purchases of Cosmos in recent weeks.

Global markets have plunged over the past few months as central banks around the world raised interest rates to curb rising inflation. Risk assets such as cryptocurrencies have been particularly hard hit as bearish fears mount.

Virtual coins rose along with other riskier assets at the start of the week, fueled by speculation that the peak of a global wave of monetary tightening is near. But high inflation has proved to be a stubborn enemy and past bouts of optimism have turned into a tumultuous year for many investors.
