New Delhi: The first day of the second phase of the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduate courses – CUET (UG) – was hit by several technical glitches, so much so that the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the crucial exam for admission. All the central many state university colleges had to postpone the exam.

Candidates in the morning slot at 41 centers in 29 cities and 17 states/UTs were sent back due to “technical problems”. NTA Senior Director Sadhna Parashar said, “Due to various administrative and technical reasons, CUET (UG) scheduled for 4th August (1st shift) has been postponed till 12th August for some examination centers in 17 states. ”

“Moreover, due to technical reasons, the question paper for the second shift of the exam could only be uploaded at 5 pm and the download could start at 5.25 pm at 489 centers while the exam was scheduled to start at 3 pm,” he added.

Meanwhile, the NTA in its notification said, “Reports were sought from supervisors/city coordinators on the ground. Based on their recommendations, the second shift scheduled for August 4, 2022 (3 PM to 6 PM) has been canceled and will now be held between August 12 and 14, 2022.

Another candidate alleged in a tweet, “My father and I traveled 300 km to the exam centre. But after coming the officials said that my exam has been canceled due to technical fault. What kind of joke is this?”

Many are still puzzled about the alleged notice. Dheeraj Kumar wrote, “My CUET slot-1 exam of 4th August at NTA Center 3 Noida 64 is canceled and rescheduled to 12th August. Please NTA clear me the admit card and center details for the rescheduled exam. Please provide the image.” Twitter.

One Twitter user alleged, “Tests were not starting in many systems due to which students had to sit idle for hours.”

NTA is releasing the admit card four to five days before the exam. However, some students who still haven’t received their admit cards for the August 7 exam are in panic and are taking to social media to express their anguish.

According to the NTA, the admit cards of the candidates whose exams have been postponed (on August 4) will be valid for the postponed exams as well. Also, if any candidate finds it difficult to take the exam from August 12 to 14, the agency has asked them to send an email mentioning their roll number and desired date to take the exam.

NTA is conducting CUET (UG)-2022 from 15th July to 20th August (excluding other undergraduate examinations and gazetted holidays) at 489 centers located in about 259 cities across India and nine cities outside India.
