CUET-UG 2022: When NTA will declare results, UGC chairman reveals

UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar on Friday revealed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to declare the CUET-UG results by September 15 or, if possible, “even a few days before”.

The UGC Chairman has advised all the universities to keep their web portals ready to start the undergraduate admission process on the basis of CUET-UG scores.

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is the common gateway for undergraduate admission in all central universities.

The first edition of Common University Entrance Test-UG was conducted on 14th July at exam centers in more than 510 cities in India and abroad.

UGC The major had announced in March that CUET scores, not class 12 marks, would be mandatory for admission to 45 central universities, which may decide their minimum eligibility criteria.

Kumar had clarified that there would be no harm to the students of state boards under the new system and the examination would not promote coaching culture.

A total of 44 Central Universities, 12 State Universities, 11 Deemed Universities and 19 Private Universities have applied to participate in the first edition of CUET-UG for admission in the academic session 2022-23.

The first edition of CUET-UG concluded on August 30, in which many candidates faced technical glitches.

The exam could not be conducted due to slow internet speed affecting 103 candidates at a center of Radha Govind University in Jharkhand. However, the NTA officials said that the exam for these candidates will be conducted at a later date.

Sadhna Parashar, Senior Director (Examination), NTA, said.

As per the initial plan, all the phases of CUET-UG were to end on August 20.

However, the exam was further postponed and divided into six phases to accommodate the students whose exams were rescheduled due to several glitches that affected the exam.

From technical glitches to last minute change in exam center and uninformed change in exam dates to cards mentioning previous dates, students faced a number of issues.

NEET-UG is the biggest entrance exam in India, with an average of 18 lakh registrations.
