The Indian men’s hockey team continued their unbeaten run at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games as they defeated Canada 8-0 on Wednesday. Harmanpreet Singh (7′, 56′), and Akashdeep Singh (37′, 60) scored a goal each, while Amit Rohidas (10′), Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (20′), Gurjant Singh (27), And Mandeep scored a goal each. Akashdeep Singh hit a snap shot into the nets from the edge of the circle as India extended their lead to 5-0. With captain Manpreet Singh running back and forth the length of the field, Canada remained stuck in midfield and could not add several dangerous attacks of their own inside India’s circle.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, India showed readiness to get more goals on the board, despite being already five goals ahead.
