Cyrus Mistry’s body reached Mumbai from Palghar

The body of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry is being taken from Palghar to Mumbai, police said, adding that the vehicle is being inspected.

Motor vehicle inspector Manisha More said on September 4, “We can’t say much, will report, just inspect the car. Further investigation is on.”

Meanwhile, gynecologist Anahita Pandole, who was driving a Mercedes that crashed on a road divider on Sunday, and her husband are likely to be shifted to a Mumbai hospital on Monday, a police official said.

Earlier in the day, Mistry was traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in a Mercedes car and met with an accident at the Gujarat-Maharashtra border.

“The accident happened around 3.15 pm, when Mistry was traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. The accident happened on the bridge over the Surya river. It seems to be an accident,” the police officer told news agency PTI.

Industrialists or politicians mourned Mistry’s death.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others expressed condolences.
