Dalit Boy Death: Sachin Pilot Vs Ashok Gehlot Again in Rajasthan | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Death of a Dalit student from Rajasthan Jalore It has become the latest flashpoint in the Congress vs Congress war in the state.
Indra Meghwal, a 9-year-old student of a private school in Surana village of Jalore district, was thrashed by her teacher on July 20 for allegedly touching a pot of drinking water. The boy succumbed to his injuries on 13 August at a hospital in Ahmedabad.
The incident has surrounded the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot. The irony is that more than the opposition, there is only one section of the Congress which has raised its voice against its own government in the state.
Putting pressure on Gehlot, one Congress MLA Pana Chand Meghwal and 12 party councilors of Baran Municipal Council have resigned. The councilors expressed grief over the atrocities on Dalits and deprived sections in the state.
To increase the problems of Gehlot, his former deputy Sachin Pilot Indirectly targeted to attack the government.
Pilot, who led the unsuccessful rebellion against Gehlot, had a strong message for his government – talk to win the trust of the Dalit community.
“Such incidents should be strongly condemned,” he said. We need to put a stop to such incidents. Mere laws, speech and actions are not enough. We have to give them a strong message that we are with them to instill confidence in them.
Pilot met the victim’s family and said: “Such discrimination continues in our system even after 75 years of independence. It is a matter of introspection for all of us. His death has raised many questions.”
“Such incidents should be zero tolerance. We should not wait for the next event to take action. We have to take steps to defeat such ideology. No one can escape after atrocities on Dalits.
At the same time, Gehlot accused some party leaders of instigating the workers.
“Some of our people, leaders instigate workers by saying that they should be respected and respected. It has become a ‘jumla’. Have you ever respected and respected workers? Do you also know that respect and respect What is respect?” The Chief Minister said in a veiled attack on the pilot..
The CM said, we have become a leader from a worker by getting respect and respect.
Pilot has often raised the issue of respect and dignity of party workers.
Though the two leaders did not take names, the message sent was loud and clear.
Later in the day, Pilot was absent from the all-party virtual meeting held to review the situation in the districts affected by the lumpy skin disease.
Ever since the Congress high command managed to convince Pilot to end the rebellion against the Gehlot government, the two leaders have been at loggerheads over several issues.
Elections are to be held in Rajasthan next year. The signs of a war of words do not bode well for the Congress, desperate to return to power in next year’s assembly elections.
Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are the only two states where the oldest party rules on its own. However, the party is facing leadership struggles in both the states. The oldest party recently lost a coalition government in Maharashtra, but in a fortunate turn of events gained another in Bihar.
