Deepika Padukone’s hand embroidered statement collar made of 1200 beads and 200 crystals

Deepika Padukone’s sartorial journey on the Cannes red carpet exuded grace, elegance and royalty. From day one the actors and jury members have been celebrating global fashion at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival.

Deepika Padukone looked gorgeous in an off white saree designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

Deepika, who graced the red carpet in a gorgeous black and gold sari designed by Sabyasachi, chose a royal ivory sari designed by renowned Indian designers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for the closing ceremony.

Looking like royalty, Deepika’s saree had an exquisite statement collar which featured around 1200 pearls and 200 crystals. Describing the art adorned by the star, the designer duo took to Instagram and wrote: “Deepika Padukone is heavenly in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. She wears an off-white saree with a trail and dramatic pleated ruffles. A bustier with pearls and crystals and a luxurious, hand-embroidered, statement pearl collar complete the ethereal look. (sic).”

Famous drape artists and their favorite draped Bollywood Dolly Zain wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram. Excited to be a part of the Cannes Film Festival and drape Deepika for the occasion, Dolly said: “What an honor it is to be here to see this diva representing our roots in an iconic ruffled sari. (sic) “

Styled by Shalina Nathani, Deepika’s hair and makeup were done by Yianni Tsapatori and Sandhya Shekhar. Deepika accessorised her look with earrings from Bardhichand Ghanshyamdas. With her hair tied up in a sleek bun and minimal makeup accentuating her look, the overall look exudes a feel of royalty.

Apart from Deepika’s beautiful saree, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s designs were also embellished by actor and writer Sukhmani Sadana. Wearing an exquisite ivory and gold saree by Abu Sandeep from the brand’s Diffuse line ASAL, Sukhmani paired the saree with an embellished bustier. She completed her look with Chandbalis from Amrapali Jewels. Taking to Instagram, Sukhmi shared her heartfelt note, she wrote: A small town girl called my whole life. Small town girls also make it to Cannes! Thank you universe and everyone who has always believed in me. Ps: Last picture… Can’t keep calm! I am in Cannes. He is in Amritsari (sic).
