Delhi-bound Lufthansa flight returns to Frankfurt due to technical snag

After being in the air for almost two hours, a Delhi-bound Lufthansa flight is returning to Frankfurt due to a hydraulic system problem, according to a passenger. Flight LH-0760 from Frankfurt to Delhi is operated by Boeing 747-400 aircraft. A PTI correspondent on board said that after being in the air for about two hours, the captain announced that the plane was being taken back to Frankfurt for hydraulic system maintenance.

The flight which was supposed to take off at 1.40 pm was delayed and took off from Frankfurt at around 2.20 pm (local time).

Earlier in the day, a Delhi-Bagdogra Indigo flight had to return to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a technical snag. As a precautionary measure, flight 6E 6282 returned to Delhi, according to a statement by the airline.

In a statement, IndiGo said, “The pilot observed a technical problem and requested to return. The aircraft landed safely and necessary inspections are being carried out. An alternate aircraft was made available to transport the passengers to Bagdogra.”

Earlier, a cargo plane of Saudia Airlines made an emergency landing at the Kolkata airport on the same day after its windshield exploded mid-air, reports ANI. The aircraft landed safely at Kolkata airport at 12:02 pm. The airport had made all necessary arrangements before landing. According to airport officials, the state of emergency was completely lifted after the flight landed.
