Delhi Excise Case: Fresh CBI notice to TRS leader Kavita for questioning on December 11

CBI has issued a fresh notice to TRS MLC Kavita for questioning at her Hyderabad residence on December 11 in Delhi Excise Policy scam case. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

The agency is understood to have agreed to the request of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter to postpone it from Tuesday to any date between December 11-15.

In response to the first notice issued on December 2, Kavita had said that she went through the copy of the FIR as well as the complaint available on the website regarding the matter and in no way did her name figure anywhere.

The new notice issued by the agency read, “…CBI team will visit your residence on December 11, 2022 at 1100 hrs to examine you and record your statement in connection with the investigation of the above (Delhi Excise Scam) case. Please confirm your availability at your residential address in Hyderabad on the said date and time…” Kavita had said in a statement on Monday that she had informed the authorities that they can meet her at her Hyderabad residence.

“I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate with the investigation. I will meet you on any of the dates mentioned above to cooperate with the investigation. It is clarified that this is without prejudice to my legal rights available under law.”

The CBI has already chargesheeted seven people in connection with the excise scam.

Officials said the agency is probing further to understand the alleged role of the southern lobby in influencing the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy.

CBI continues to probe the role of the accused and other persons named in the FIR on various charges including conspiracy, money trails, cartelization and larger conspiracies with other licensees in formulation and implementation of excise policy. charge sheet.

The Enforcement Directorate has alleged, “…Vijay Nair has received a bribe of Rs 100 crore on behalf of AAP leaders from at least one group called the South Group (Sarath Reddy, Ms K Kavitha, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy controlled by) by various persons including Amit Arora.” Officials identified Kavitha as the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

“We say we will face any kind of investigation. If agencies come and ask us questions, we will definitely answer. But tarnishing the image of politicians by giving selective leaks to the media, people will refute it,” Kavita said in Hyderabad.
