Delhi has canceled the leave of all government officials in view of the Kovid spike. check details

As the Omicron type of cases of coronavirus spread across the country, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has directed cancellation of all holidays. Delhi Government Officers except on medical leave.

In a new order, the government said, “Delhi has observed that the number of COVID-19 cases (including cases of omicron variant) is increasing rapidly in the last few days and the positivity rate has now crossed 6%, which has been declared by RED. classified as ,

“DDMA has since identified essential and emergency services which will continue to function during this period and has also ordered that all officers and officials shall work from home even during the period of lockdown,” it added.

As per the assessment of the situation, the authority said that the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic would now involve huge mobilization of human resources at various levels.

“Therefore, the Competent Authority now directs to cancel all the leave except medical leave granted to all the officers/officers/employees in all the departments/offices of GNCT of Delhi and further directs that the officers shall not be entitled to any leave other than medical leave. Leave will not be granted to the officers/employees of various departments of GNCT Delhi nor will they be allowed to leave the station till further orders,” the DDMA said.

This comes as state Health Minister Satyendar Jain said earlier in the day that the third wave of Covid-19 has started in Delhi. He said that the infection is spreading rapidly and people need to be alert.

The minister also said that now only 300-400 samples are being sent for genome sequencing as sequencing of all samples is not possible.

Jain said that the government has activated a COVID war room which will maintain district and hospital wise data about bed rest, patients, oxygen etc.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 10,665 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, almost double the number of infections recorded a day earlier, taking the positivity rate to 11.88%.

The number of new cases is the highest since May 12 last year, when 13,287 people were diagnosed with the disease.

The number of active cases rose to 23,307 from 14,889 on Tuesday.
