Delhi LG to take legal action against AAP leaders on false allegations

New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena will take legal action against Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP leaders, Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj and Durgesh Pathak, for “false” corruption charges, news agency PTI reported on Wednesday (August 31, 2022), quoting officials.

Saxena has reportedly denied allegations of corruption worth Rs 1,400 crore by AAP leaders when he was the chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), terming them as “his imagination”.

Legal action will also be taken against Jasmine Shah, Vice Chairman of Delhi’s Dialogue and Development Commission.

Earlier on Monday, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Durgesh Pathak had claimed in the Delhi Assembly that Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had pressurized his employees to change old notes of Rs 1400 crore In 2016 when he was the Chairman of KVIC.

During the proceedings of the House on Monday, AAP MLAs also reached the Well, alleging that the “scam” was of Rs 1,400 crore and demanded the resignation of Saxena, besides the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Checked by. ,

The development comes days after Saxena recommended a CBI probe into alleged corruption in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 and AAP’s allegations that he was “interfering” in the work of the city government.

Meanwhile, the CBI said that it has not found the role of any person other than two accused cashiers of Khadi Gram Udyog Bhawan, who allegedly exchanged Rs 17 lakh old notes into new notes post demonetisation. Officials said the central agency had already filed a charge sheet against head cashiers Sanjeev Malik and Pradeep Kumar Yadav in December 2017 after conducting a thorough probe into the matter.

CBI has said that trial is going on in the case.
