Delhi man murdered wife, wrapped in cloth; Surrender: Police

On Sunday, a man killed his wife and surrendered at the police station. Police said the incident took place at Kapil Vihar in Delhi’s Mukund Pur area.

The accused has been identified as Vijay (38) son Daya Ram resident of Kapil Vihar, Mukundpur, Delhi.

Police said, “On June 18, he came to Bhalswa Dairy police station and told that he had killed his wife. On inquiry, the police visited the spot and found that the victim named Santoshi Devi was wrapped in some clothes by the accused. . “

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered and it was found that Vijay was earlier married to a woman (first wife) and had 4 children. Thereafter, he came in contact with another woman (victim Santoshi), who used to work in a hospital as told by accused Vijay. After this the first wife left him alone. The other woman also had 4 children and was living separately from her husband.

In the meantime, accused Vijay and the victim started living together and gave birth to a 2-year-old child. In course of time, some petty talks started between Vijay and Santoshi regarding the care of all the children. On the evening of June 17, Santoshi returned from her work and at around 11.30 pm, a quarrel broke out between the two over some issue. All the children were sleeping on the ground floor and Vijay and Santoshi were on the terrace. The quarrel escalated so much that the accused strangled Santoshi and wrapped the body in a cloth. But he could not manage things and on 18th June went to the police and told the whole story.

Thereafter an FIR was registered against the accused under section 482/22 u/s 302/201 of IPC and further investigation is on.
