NEW DELHI: More than 80 trains have been canceled and Delhi-NCR witnessed massive traffic jams on Monday as some organizations said “Bharat Bandh” to mark their protest against Agneepath Recruitment Scheme Unveiled by the central government last week. This comes a day after the three-service chiefs refused to withdraw the scheme.

Commuters faced difficulties in commuting in the national capital as heavy traffic jams were reported in various parts of the city including the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway as the Delhi Police put up barricades at various checkpoints in view of the Bharat Bandh. Agneepath Scheme,

Precautionary measures are being taken at various railway stations in several states after agitators vandalized several stations and set several trains on fire.
More than 80 trains have been canceled on Monday amid protests in different parts of the country against the new recruitment scheme in the armed forces.

According to Northern Railway, a total of 18 eastbound train services from various Northern Railway terminals have been canceled today.
It further informed that 71 Delhi zone bound commuter trains (including return services) have also been canceled for today in view of the protest against the Central Government. the path of fire Recruitment Scheme.

Train services in Western Railway zone remained affected yesterday as well. Security has been tightened in several states on Monday in protest against the Centre’s new Agneepath Recruitment Scheme.
States including West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and others have beefed up security in the wake of widespread violence last week, as thousands protested the Centre’s decision.
Howrah DCP North Anupam Singh told reporters, “Police force has been deployed at many places. We are ready to deal with any kind of situation. We also urge the youth not to indulge in any untoward activity.” Huh.”
In Delhi’s neighboring areas of Faridabad and Noida, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), which prohibits the assembly of four or more persons, has been invoked.
Uttar Pradesh Police said that strict action will be taken against those who endanger the peace.
Ashutosh Dwivedi, ADCP, Law & Order, Noida said, “Amid the protests against the Agneepath scheme, anti-social elements may endanger the peace. Section 144 has been imposed in Gautam Buddha Nagar and against those found involved in such incidents. Strict action will be taken.”
Heavy traffic jam was also witnessed on Delhi-Gurugram Expressway at Sarhaul border as Delhi Police started checking vehicles in view of Bharat Bandh protest.
Earlier today, at Gorakhpur railway station, passengers remained upset due to the cancellation of trains amid the call for Bharat Bandh. “We have been waiting for three to four hours. When we checked the status of the train last night, it was not cancelled, but we came to know about it when we reached there,” he told media persons.
On the other hand, all schools in Jharkhand will remain closed today. Sister Mary Grace, principal of Ursuline Convent School and Inter College, said, “JAC exam for class 11 was scheduled for today. New dates for today’s exams will be announced.”
According to an official order of the district administration, schools in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur will also remain closed today.
In view of the possibility of disturbances in law and order due to protests in Jaipur, Rajasthan, prohibitory orders under section 144 have been imposed from 6 pm on Sunday till midnight of 18 August.
The ADGP Law and Order of Punjab Police has directed the CPs and SSPs across the state to be on alert and asked them to keep a watch on the activities of social media groups which are actively gathering information about the scheme or are spreading.
Meanwhile, train services in the East Coast Railway zone were affected amid protests in various parts of the country, railway officials said on Monday.
According to Northern Railway, a total of 18 eastbound train services from various Northern Railway terminals have been canceled today.
It further informed that 71 commuter trains (including return services) of Delhi zone have also been canceled for today in view of the protest against the Centre’s Agneepath recruitment scheme.
Train services in Western Railway zone remained affected on Sunday amid protests in various parts of the country against the new recruitment scheme in the Armed Forces. Train services had to be cancelled, partially canceled and some diversion of trains.
As protests continue, a senior army official clarified on Sunday that the plan will not be withdrawn and said it is the “only progressive step to make the country youthful”.
