Ludhiana: CIA-II Ludhiana Police Commissionerate A Delhi policeman has been arrested for running a racket along with three other accomplices for duping lakhs of rupees in the name of getting admitted. Punjab Police Constable.
The accused also took about 20 candidates to a hotel in Sonipat a day ago. Punjab Police Constable Exam was prescribed and a mock test was also arranged for them, claiming that it was a leaked question paper.
However, the next day the question paper was completely different.
The arrested accused has been identified as Robin, 34, of Sonipat, Haryana, who is a Delhi Police constable and was posted at 7th Battalion, Malviya Nagar, Delhi.
The accused who are yet to be arrested are Dharminder Thatwal of Sonepat, Asa Ram Soni of Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and Mahanveer of Sirsa, who owns Fauji Sainik Career Academy.
Police also recovered Rs 4.02 lakh in cash from him.
Varinder Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, said, “The police had received information about the gang from an aspirant who is promising to provide the Punjab Police constable recruitment exam question paper on October 14. The CIA-II police team Led Inspector Beant Juneja apprehended the accused and recovered cash from him.During interrogation, the accused said that he is a Delhi Police constable who hails from Haryana.The accused confessed that he is part of that racket Who cheated him on this pretext to get the exam question paper”.
“The accused Robin had joined the Delhi Police in 2009, however, has been absent from his duty for the past one month. Earlier on October 6, 2021, he was booked under Panipat, Haryana for fraud, criminal conspiracy and information technology act. When Robin and his gang members leaked a competitive exam for government jobs, he was arrested and suspended, though later reinstated. Another case of scuffle was registered against Robin in the U.S.,” Brar said.
Further, Inspector Beant Juneja, CIA-II in-charge said, “Earlier, the accused had hacked the system to leak a competitive exam for government jobs in 2021. However, in the Punjab Police recruitment case, the accused did a Downloaded sample paper. On internet and took mock test of candidates claiming to appear same question paper in exam. However, when candidates went to exam, they realized that they have been cheated and question paper completely Thereafter, some candidates approached the police, one of whom is from Ludhiana. The accused extorted Rs 5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh from the candidates as per the capacity of the candidate.
Juneja said that Robin’s partner Mahavir has an academy that prepares candidates for competitive exams. Mahanveer and Asa Ram Soni used to woo the candidates after checking their financial background. Along with this, the accused is also being questioned about his associates.
During this, an FIR has been lodged against him in the division number 7 police station.
