The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has registered a case of corruption against 81 officers and employees of Rohini Jail in North-West Delhi. A case was registered for taking bribe from thug Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The development comes after eight jail officials were earlier arrested for allegedly helping a jailed criminal.
The police registered a case against the Rohini Jail staff after investigation that Chandrashekhar paid a bribe of Rs 1.5 crore to the jail staff every month to get the facility to use mobile phones and a separate barracks without any hindrance. “Sukesh was paying Rs 1.5 crore every month to get the facility to use mobile phones and a separate barracks without any hindrance. The police have also found a note in which the names of all the jail personnel who took the bribe have been found. The case was registered after getting permission from the Tihar Jail administration.
