Delhi Police issues traffic advisory for BJP’s roadshow in presence of PM Modi on Monday

Vehicular movement is likely to be affected in some parts of Delhi on Monday as police imposed traffic restrictions on some roads in view of BJP’s roadshow to be organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders.

A huge crowd is expected for the road show on Sansad Marg from Patel Chowk Golchakkar to Jai Singh Road Junction. Will start at 3 pm.

Police said that special arrangements would be made to ensure smooth traffic management in areas around the roadshow route.

According to the traffic advisory, Ashoka Road (Windsor Place to GPO, both carriageways), Jai Singh Road, Sansad Marg, Tolstoy Road (Janpath to Parliament Street), Rafi Marg (Rail Bhavan Square to Parliament Street), Jantar Mantar Road, Imtiaz Afternoon Khan Marg and Bangla Sahib Lane will remain closed from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

“During the roadshow, Baba Kharak Singh Road, Outer Circle Connaught Place, Park Street/Shankar Road, Minto Road, Mandir Marg, Barakhamba Road, Panchkuen Road, Raisina Road, Tolstoy Road, Janpath, Ferozshah Road, Rafi Marg (Golden Masjid to Rail Bhawan), Rani Jhansi Road, DBG Road, Chelmsford Road, Bhai Vir Singh Marg, DDU Marg, Ranjit Singh Flyover, Talkatora Road and Pandit Pant Marg will be affected.

The advisory further states that traffic will be diverted from Gol Dak Khana, Gurudwara Rakab Ganj, Windsor Roundabout, Rail Bhawan, Outer Connaught Circus-Parliament Marg Junction, Raisina Road-Jantar Mantar Road Junction, Janpath/Tolstoy Road Junction and Tolstoy Road-KG Will be done. Way.

The traffic police has advised people to avoid these roads and stretches.

Passengers traveling to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway, Nizamuddin Railway Station, ISBT and IGI Airport are advised to leave with sufficient time to accommodate possible delays en route.

The traffic police also urged people to use public transport to help decongest the roads and asked commuters to park their vehicles only at designated parking lots.

“Avoid roadside parking as it obstructs the normal flow of traffic. If any unusual, unknown object or person is seen in suspicious circumstances, it should be reported to the police,” the advisory said.
