The committee constituted under the chairmanship of Dean (Examination) DS Rawat, was to examine the reasons for over- and under-admissions in undergraduate courses, study the board-wise distribution of admissions in all undergraduate courses, suggest alternative strategies for optimum admission . in undergraduate courses, and check OBC admissions with reference to ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ status.

It had analyzed the admission data which is cut-off based and observed that it showed the highest admission of students from CBSE Board, followed by Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education, Board of School Education, Haryana, ICSE and Secondary Board. Education Rajasthan.

The committee, in a report, had said, “The Committee is of the view that as long as the undergraduate admissions to the University are cut-off based, there is no way that fluctuations, sometimes significant, can be avoided to maintain equity.” could.”

“Any attempt to normalize the marks awarded by different boards may be fraught with the danger of formulating a formula which may not be justified on some scale.”

Noting that the normalization of marks across various boards may not stand the test of validity, if contested in a court of law, the report states that “neither cut-off based admissions nor various boards Admission through normalization of marks given by the choices which observe maximum fairness in admission”.
