Delhi University (DU) 2nd Cut-Off List: Over 13,000 Secured Admissions

As per official data, more than 13,000 students have secured their admission under the second cut-off list in Delhi University, while more than 1.15 lakh applications have been received so far.

Under the first list 36,130 students were admitted, filling a little over half of the 70,000 undergraduate seats on offer.

As per the data shared by the university, 13552 students have paid the fees while 7245 applications have been accepted by the principals.

A total of 1,15,490 applications have been received by the university since the commencement of the admission process on October 4 under the first cut-off list.

According to Dr Babli Moitra Saraf, Principal, Indraprastha College for Women, they are likely to fill most of the unreserved seats in several courses, while BA (Hons) Sanskrit is likely to remain open in the third list.

The college has filled almost half of the 1,300-plus seats in the first list, while the total now stands at 900.

Wednesday is the last date for applications while Thursday will be the last day to approve colleges. Friday is the last day for fee payment.

Manish Kansal, admission coordinator of Hindu College said that the total number of admissions in the college has gone up to 1,843.

“We have filled unreserved seats in B.Com (Hons) while there is a gap of about seven seats in BA (Hons) Economics. We have taken admission in 101 seats against 79 seats in B.Com (Hons) and out of these, 75 admissions are from unreserved category. which has 31 seats. The third list is likely to have closed courses for general category while Economics (Hons) may be open,” he said.

In Aryabhatta College, English (Hons), History (Hons), Computer Science (Hons), Mathematics (Hons), Economics (Hons), BA Prog are likely to close in the second list. Admissions in these subjects have already violated the seat limit.

Rajdhani College has 788 admissions under two lists, out of which 565 have been approved by the principal under the second list.
