Delhi University’s Miranda House retains top spot in NIRF College Rankings

Delhi University’s Miranda House retained its first rank for the sixth year in a row in the college-wise NIRF Rankings 2022 released today, followed by Hindu College.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the seventh edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2022.

There are a total of 11 categories under which Indian universities will be ranked. Overall, the announcement was made for University, College, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Medicine, Architecture, Dentistry and Research category.

In the overall category, IIT Madras is followed by IISc Bengaluru while IIT Bombay is at the third position.

Under the university category, IISc tops the list, followed by JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jadavpur University of West Bengal, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. Among pharmacy institutes, Jamia Hamdard secured the top position, followed by The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad and Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Five of the ten best colleges in this category are from Delhi, with Miranda House topping the charts. Hindu College has secured the second position while the Presidency College in Chennai has secured the third position.

The NIRF ranking is based on five parameters – teaching, learning and resources (TLR), research and professional practices (RPC), graduate outcomes (GO), outreach and inclusivity (OI), and perception.
